Carlos & Lucia's

If you're ever visiting Mazatlan, Mexico, this is a MUST VISIT restaurant. My boyfriend and I have nothing but the highest praises for Carlos and Lucia's restaurant. The prices are reasonable and the food is to die for! Whenever we come in, we are served by Carlos himself. We get drinks from the bar and the limes are sliced, then squeezed right in the drink. It doesn't get any fresher than that! The mojito is the best I've ever had. Carlos uses a generous amount of fresh mint and crushes it with a wooden mortar and pestle to release all the flavor. You can really taste the difference—it's nothing like those syrupy mixes that most bars use. The food is 5-star quality, too. I've gotten the shrimp (camarón) fajitas every time because they are jam-packed with delicious flavor. I can't even bring myself to try anything else because I'm already craving them again a few hours after leaving. All the ingredients are clearly fresh and the dishes are made to order. They have accommodated my onion allergy each time, which is something not many restaurants (with pre-made menu items) can offer. If there's anything I can say, it's that Carlos and Lucia's Restaurant is one you absolutely have to visit while in Mazatlán. If you're like us, you'll be back again and again.
